Present simple questions

We usually use the auxiliary verb 'do' or 'does' + bare infinitive to form questions.
Do you play tennis? Does Sarah play tennis?

Wh- questions

A. We normally make wh- questions in the same way.
What do you want? Who does Josh go out with?

B. We do not use 'do' or 'does', however, to make questions if the wh- pronoun introducing the question is the subject of the question.
What makes you angry? ('what' is the subject)
Who helps you with it? ('who' is the subject)

Negative questions

Full forms - short forms:
Do you not like it? - Don' you like it?
Does she not agree? - Doesn't she agree?

Verb to be questions

We just change the word order of a statement to make a question.
Am I your best friend? Are you unhappy? Is he/she/it over there?

Verb to be negative questions

Full forms - short forms:
Are you not unhappy? - Aren't you unhappy?
Is he not over there? - Isn't he over there?
Are we not lost? - Aren't we lost?
